Renovation Progress: January 19, 2018

IUPUI University Library has been undergoing a 3rd and 4th floor renovation since the end of the Fall 2017 Semester. As of Friday, January 19, 2018, carpets have been ripped away to make room for our new modern floors. Ceilings tiles have been removed to make space for our new lighting in specialty study areas for group collaborative and quiet study. There is a lot of progress on the third floor. Walls are being constructed that make up the skeleton of new specially designed silent study rooms, and new carpet is being installed.

So, the library's being renovated?

IUPUI University Library’s 3rd and 4th floors are getting a renovation this Fall. The library has not had a significant update since it was opened in 1993. The renovated spaces will improve the library’s function as the informal learning hub of the campus. The new design will improve private, quiet study spaces on the 3rd floor, and it will increase the amount and quality of collaborative, group study spaces on the 4th floor. More than 400 new private study carrels, tables, couches, and other seats will be added to the renovated floors.
