As an IUPUI faculty member, student or scholar, there are several steps you can take now to support Open Access.

Submit
Submit your work to IUPUI ScholarWorks or a subject based open repository such as:arXiv or the Social Science Research Network (SSRN)
Publish
Publish in an Open Access, peer reviewed journal such as: PLoS Biology or Museum Anthropology Review. The Directory of Open Access Journals can assist in locating quality Open Access journals by subject. Or, learn how to choose reputable OA journals in your field.
Keep Your Copyright
Many publishers are now allowing authors to remain the copyright holder of their work and/or to retain the right to use their own work in the classroom as well as to post in a digital repository. Authors simply need to ask for these rights. Use one of the following templates or addendum creators to easily create an addendum to submit with along with your publication agreement form:
- Addendum to Publication Agreements for CIC Authors from Committee on Institutional Cooperation
- Scholars Copyright Addendum Engine from Creative Commons
- Author Rights: Using the SPARC Author Addendum
