A Conversation with John Sherman
John Sherman is an Indianapolis enterpreneur who served in the peace corp in Nigeria and Malawi in the late 1960s. During the Nigerian Civil War, he joined the Red Cross to help with the relief effort.

In the interview, Mr. Sherman shares his experiences being an English teacher for a secondary school in Nigeria prior to the civil war, his views on the political and economic reasons for the conflict, and his experiences in the humanitarian relief effort. Mr. Sherman also talks about his memoir, War Stories, and his creative journey that led him to compose an opera, Biafra, first performed in Indianapolis on December 6, 2006.
