Food and Drink Policy
- Official IUPUI Library Mug with lid attached
- Travel mugs with lid attached
- Plastic bottles with lids.
- All containers without a lid
- Glass bottles
Users are liable for any damage to library property and equipment caused by food or drink.
Food & drinks in any form are not permitted in certain areas of the library, regardless of the container. Those areas are:
- Auditorium UL 0130, Lower Level
- University Library computer classrooms UL 0106 and UL1130
- UL 0133 Archives/Special Collections Study Room, Lower Level
- All other areas with posted "No Food or Drink" signs
- UL 0110 Classroom, Lower Level
- UL 1116 Meeting Room, Level 1
- UL 1126 Meeting Room, Level 1
- UL 2115-E, G, & J, PSL Meeting Rooms, Level 2
Enforcement of the University Library Food & Drink Policy:
Anyone with a non-approved type of drink container will be asked to either dispose of the drink or take it to a "free" zone (e.g. Student Study/Vending Room on Lower Level, the Level 1 & 2 lobbies, or outside the building), or to replace it with an approved container.
Anyone who refuses to comply with this policy will be asked by Library Security to provide a picture I.D. and will be asked to leave the building for the day.
Refusal to comply with this request will result in a call to Campus Police, who will escort them from the building. A second offense within 90 days will result in the loss of all library privileges for a period of one week and a referral to the appropriate dean or director. Any subsequent offense will be referred to the Dean of the IUPUI University Library and Campus Police for appropriate action.
Any patron not affiliated with the University who refuses to conform to this policy will be asked by Library Security to provide a picture I.D. and will be asked to leave the building for the day. Any subsequent offense will result in patron being banned from entering University Library for a minimum of thirty (30) days.
