Librarians, teachers, parents, and community members are invited to "Libraries, Learning, and Student Success" on Wednesday, September 18, from 4:30-6:30 at the Indiana Landmarks Center at 1201 Central Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46202. The event is sponsored by IUPUI's College Ready, College Bound project, and will feature a keynote address by Glenda Ritz, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction. Parking is free, and light refreshments will be served.

College Ready, College Bound is a multi-year project examining the role of high school librarians and library curriculum in student learning, preparation, and transition to college. The project began as conversations about connections, relationships, and future partnerships between high school and academic librarians. Under the leadership of Rhonda Huisman, IUPUI's Education Librarian, and with funding from CICF (Central Indiana Community Fund), College Ready, College Bound has been able to build on these conversations and gather data about the impact of school librarians at the high school and university levels, their common challenges, and best practices. "Libraries, Learning, and Student Success" will expand the conversation to the larger community.
