The American Association of University Professors is a national organization of university faculty with chapters among faculty at many American colleges and universities. A chapter resided on the Indiana University-Indianapolis campus, and continued as the IUPUI chapter after the creation of IUPUI in 1969.
At their November 18, 2015 meeting, IUPUI Staff Council, an elected campus entity that, “represents the staff in the communication processes and decision making of the university. . .and promotes staff development and recommends policies which aid in retaining highly qualified personnel. . .” among many other activities, adopted an Open Access Statement of Support.
IUPUI ScholarWorks is an institutional repository. It's also a website ... which means that people come looking for our site with keyword searches, direct links, social media sharing and all the other awesome sauce that makes the Internet a busy place.
From a distance, a viewer can't quite determine what multicolored medium was used to create the new sculpture hanging in the IUPUI University Library atrium. A closer look reveals a multitude of children's scissors -- about 2,500 pairs with their brightly colored handles -- intertwined in a fashion that brings to mind the DNA double helix.
The hanging art, titled "I Dream of Scissors," is the work of Jenn Brown, a senior studying sculpture at the Herron School of Art and Design, on the IUPUI campus.
