A. Employ a graduated or tiered approach to teaching ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education. Possible strategies: specify desired skills at each level; provide self-directed learning opportunities for each level; offer classroom instruction at each level (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior and graduate levels); create tools to provide instruction at the point of need.
B. Foster a supportive learning environment by creating teaching assignments, supporting materials, and learning activities.
