Special Collections: Copyright InformationAny copies made from materials held by IUPUI University Library's Special Collections, including both Special Collections and Archives and the Joseph and Matthew Payton Philanthropic Studies Library, may be protected by U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code), which governs reproduction, distribution, public display, and certain other uses of protected works. Uses may be allowed with permission from the rights holder, or if the use is fair use or within another exception, or if the copyright on the work has expired. Special Collections: Reference ServicesAs its primary mission, IUPUI University Library's Special Collections has the provision of reference materials and services to support the educational and research activities of our students, faculty, and staff. The secondary mission is provision of materials and services to the Indianapolis community, Indiana residents, and the national and international community of scholars and researchers. Materials and services are provided on-site and through the information dissemination potential of the World Wide Web. The Special Collections and Archives and the Joseph and Matthew Payton Philanthropic Studies Library are available to any one who desires on-site use. Reference questions may also be sent by telephone, e-mail, or through our Web-based reference request forms:
Response time is dependent upon the availability of library staff. Assistance in the preparation of bibliographies will be provided in the form of referral to appropriate databases and major monographs. Subject bibliographies, grant searches, and prospect research are not provided by the library staff. Group tours and instruction on usage of materials can be arranged by contacting the librarians. Access ServicesSpecial Collections & Archives is a non-circulating facility. Materials and services are provided on-site and through the information dissemination potential of the World Wide Web. The Joseph & Matthew Payton Philanthropic Studies Library is a circulating library. Patrons who need access to its collections should be aware of the following IUPUI University Library policies:
