Normal College float photograph, 1916

Among the festivities marking the Indiana statehood centennial in 1916 was a parade held in Indianapolis. The Normal College of the American Gymnastic Union entered several floats which depicted the sports the school was involved in. The Normal College had moved to Indianapolis in 1907. It became a part of Indiana University in 1941, and its name was changed to the Indiana University School of Physical Education in 1973.
