Find: Books

Enter IUCAT. From the home search page, start with simple keyword searches using general concepts connected with AND (e.g. programming AND Linux). If you have logged in to IUCAT, you can use the Request Delivery system to request that a book available at another IU library, but not available here, be sent here for you to pick up.

Find: eBooks

New! ebook "Meta" Search -- to simultaneously search University Library's ebook collections*. Enter IUCAT. From the home search page, under More IUCAT Searches, select "E-book Search (Beta)". Start with simple keyword searches using general concepts connected with AND (e.g. programming AND Linux). If you do multiple ebook searches, use the IUCAT "Go Back" tab when starting new searches to avoid being "bumped out" of the ebook search.

Information Technology (IT) ebook collections, with in-depth coverage of software and hardware applications:

  • *Books24x7 ITPro ebooks - Security requirements require that on- and off-campus users start each session by using a library Books24x7 link, first logging in to the library's proxy server using their campus network ID and password.
  • *Safari Books Online - The e-reference library of nearly 1200 books published by O'Reilly for programmers and IT professionals. Items can also be identified and accessed via IUCAT. New   

Multidisciplinary ebook ebook collections, including several hundred IT ebooks:

  • *Ebrary ebooks - Large collection of ebooks covering multiple academic and general interest subject areas.
  • *netLibrary ebooks - Large collection of ebooks covering multiple academic and general interest subject areas.
  • *Springer ebook collection - Site providing access to Springer ebooks from 2005 through 2007, including some from 2008 and 2009. Many books are specialized conference proceedings. Items which can be accessed are marked with a green square. Items can also be identified and accessed via IUCAT. New
