BMES - The Biomedical Engineering Society's purpose is to promote the increase of biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization.  This site provides information about the society and its events and publications (includes full text of BMES Bulletin and abstracts of the Annals of Biomedical Engineering).

Division of Bioengineering & Environmental Systems at the NSF - This organization is concerned with expanding the knowledge base of bioengineering; extending engineering methodologies to include the solution to problems in the biological, medical, ocean and other environmental sciences; employing biological principles for the development of innovative engineering methods and systems; and exploring basic engineering concepts and systems to enable sustainable development.

IEEE : EMBS - The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society of the IEEE is interested in the application of concepts and methods of the physical and engineering sciences in biology and medicine.  They cover a broad spectrum, ranging from formalized mathematical theory through experimental science and technological development to practical clinical applications.
