National Environment Directory
This is a free, online directory of more than 13,000 organizations in the United States concerned with environmental issues and environmental education. It is the most complete and most comprehensive environmental directory in the United States.
Google Directory: Environment
Ubiquitous Google does it again, with a very extensive directory of Environmental Websites, each with a handy annotation. Ah well, can we really hate them just for being so good?
Yahoo Directory: Environment and Nature
And not to be outdone, Yahoo too has compiled a large and useful list of web resources.
People of Color Environmental Groups Directory
The People of Color Environmental Groups Directory 2000 is the only resource guide of its type in the country. The current edition of the directory lists more than 400 people-of-color groups from 45 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, up from 200 groups in 1992. Created as a standard reference guide, the directory is designed to help environmental justice organizations network with one another, as well as aid public and private decision makers reach community constituents and stakeholder groups. It can be ordered. The directory is free. You can view the directory as Adobe downloads from the link above. The nice folks at The Environment Directory describe themselves as a “group of hard working people dedicated to helping others keep in touch and informed on the World Wide Web. With thousands of sites, it is the largest exclusively environmental organization directory on the Web, and includes sites from over 100 countries.”
