National Council for Science and the Environment
The National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) has been working since 1990 to improve the scientific basis for environmental decision-making. For its efforts, the Council has earned a reputation for objectivity, responsibility, and achievement. Supported by over 500 academic, scientific, environmental, and business organizations, and by federal, state and local government, the Council works closely with the many communities that create and use environmental knowledge to make and shape environmental decisions.
Jane Goodall Institute
This non-profit organization works to advance the power of individuals to take informed and compassionate action to improve the environment for all living things.
Nature Conservancy
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to "protect animals, plants and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive." Since its inception in 1951, the 1 million-plus member organization has helped protect 11 million acres of ecologically important land in the United States and more than 60 million acres in Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific region.
The Sierra Club
The Sierra Club, one of America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organizations, seeks to explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth, practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources, educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment, and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

The Right-to-Know Network (RTK NET)
RTK NET is a free online research tool operated by OMB Watch. It provides public access to the federally mandated Toxic Release Inventory, and it has grown to include 11 EPA databases. The TRI database is up to date, but some of the others are not updated regularly, due to lack of staffing at OMB Watch.
