Science & Technology
Contains citations to agricultural literature. The records describe publications and resources encompassing all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines, including animal and veterinary sciences, entomology, plant sciences, forestry, aquaculture and fisheries, farming and farming systems, agricultural economics, extension and education, food and human nutrition, and earth and environmental sciences.
Current Research Information System
CRIS is the USDA's documentation and reporting system for ongoing and recently completed research projects in agriculture, food and nutrition, and forestry.
DOE Information Bridge
Provides access to full-text DOE research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics.
Interface to several databases, up to 10 of which can be searched simultaneously. Includes multidisciplinary databases such as DOE Information Bridge, DTIC Technical Reports Database, and the IBM Patent Server. Also has subject-specific databases, which cover the fields of biology & medicine, chemistry, engineering, environmental sciences, fossil fuels, physics and renewable energy.
Access to data related to the Human Genome Project.
Life Sciences Data Archive
This NASA database contains information and data from space flight experiments conducted since 1961, and includes human, animal and plant studies.
NASA Technical Reports Server
Allows users to search the many different abstract and technical report servers maintained by various NASA centers and programs.
National Ag Safety Database (NASD)
"NASD contains over 2,650 ag health and safety publications from 34 states, 4 federal agencies and 5 national organizations. The collection includes OSHA and EPA Standards, extension publications, a database of abstracts and ordering information for over2,000 ag safety-related videos, a NIOSH bibliography database with over 500 scientific publications, slide presentations, posters, sample news releases and public service announcement scripts."
NIST Online Databases
Scientific databases from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
OSTI (replaced PubScience)
Provides users the capability to search across a large compendium of peer reviewed journal literature with a focus on the physical sciences and other disciplines of concern to the Department of Energy.
Online Mendelian Inheritance in Men (OMIM)
This database is a catalog of human genes and genetic disorders and contains textual information, pictures, and reference information. It also contains links to NCBI's Entrez database of MEDLINE articles and sequence information.
Patent and Trademark Office Databases
Access to Patent Full-Text Database with Full-Page Images; Patent Bibliographic and Abstract Database; Expired Patent Search; Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS); and the Agent and Attorney Roster.
Provides names, checklists, automated tools, identification information, species abstracts, distributional data, crop information, plant symbols, plant growth data, plant materials information, plant links, references, and other plant information. Includes reports in these specialized areas: alternative crops, characteristics, checklists & searches, classification, culturally significant, excluded and anomalous names, fact sheets, invasive & noxious, threatened & endangered, and wetland indicator status.
This is a searchable gateway to preprint servers that deal with scientific and technical disciplines of concern to DOE. Such disciplines include the great bulk of physics, materials, and chemistry, as well as portions of biology, environmental sciences and nuclear medicine.
Science Accelerator Searches science, including R&D results, project descriptions, accomplishments, and more, via resources made available by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), U.S. Department of Energy.
Science Tracer Bullets Online
Provides bibliographic guides designed to help users locate material on a particular subject in the field of science and technology.
Selected pre-publication notices of recent research results from the Agricultural Research Service (ARS). Topics covered include food and nutrition, crops and livestock, natural resources, and industrial products and technology. Also includes breaking news in biology, chemistry, and other sciences.
Toxics Release Inventory (TRI)
Identifies facilities, chemicals manufactured and used at the identified facilities, and the annual amounts of these chemicals released (in routine operations and in accidents and other one-time events). Also reports on quantities of TRI chemicals recycled, combusted for energy recovery, and treated on- and off-site.
Provides access to a wide range of statistical data focusing on U.S. universities and colleges and their science and engineering resources.
