What is Informatics?Informatics is...- understanding the impact technology has on people.
- the development of new uses for technology.
- the application of information technology in the context of another field.
Informatics is a new field of study that gives students the skills to apply information technology to another field - from health care to journalism to biology to economics. Informaticists can then use technology to harness the power of information and make exciting new discoveries that make us more productive at home and at work. IUPUI School of Informatics http://informatics.iupui.edu/overview/what_is_informatics.php Research Tip: Use these terms when searching for informatics-related items in IUCAT and article databases. Note: this is not an exhaustive list. Students in I503: Use this research guide to find appropriate resources for your projects.
