PsycINFO Key Resource - The core index leading to journal articles in the area of psychology. Also includes citations to articles from an array of disciplines related to psychology such as: psychiatry, education, business (organizational psychology), medicine, nursing, pharmacology, law, linguistics, and social work. Provides citations and abstracts from over 1,400 professional journals as well as chapters, books, reports, theses and dissertations; published from 1872 to the present. PsycARTICLES Key Resource - Full-text articles published by American Psychological Association journals and selected Education Publishing Foundation journals. Coverage is from 1988 to the present. Medline - The premier database leading to journal articles in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the pre-clinical sciences. Produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine; coverage is from the mid-1960's to the present. PubMed - PubMed is the free public interface to MEDLINE. It provides access to the same journal citations in MEDLINE as well as additional life science journals. PubMed also provides access to the integrated molecular biology databases included in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) Entrez retrieval system. PubMed is maintained and updated by the National Library of Medicine on a weekly basis. Please note, PubMed does not include or link to the electronic full-text of indexed articles when IUPUI Libraries pays for such access (use Medline, for this type of access). Science Citation Index - A multidisciplinary, citation index with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the sciences, including psychology. Other psychology-related topic areas covered include: medicine, neuroscience, and psychiatry. Coverage is from 1987 to the present. Social Sciences Citation Index - A multidisciplinary, citation index with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences, including psychology. Other psychology-related areas covered include psychiatry and sociology. Sociological Abstracts - The core index leading to journal articles in the area of sociology and related social and behavioral sciences. Provides citations and abstracts from over 1,700 professional journals as well as abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers. Published from 1963 to the present. ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) - Provides access to educational-related journal articles, reports, conference proceedings, government documents, dissertations, books, etc. Coverage begins from 1966 to the present. Use this database to find resources related to educational and child psychology. ABI/INFORM or Business Source Premier - Both databases provide access to articles in business magazines and peer-reviewed business journals. Subject areas covered include: marketing, management, accounting, finance, economics, industry-specific topics, and corporate strategies. Consider using these databases to retrieve articles related to organization/industrial psychology topics. Academic Search Premier and/or Expanded Academic ASAP - Both databases lead to magazine and journal articles from all discipline areas including the sciences, social sciences, and humanities. These databases are an adequate place to start your research; however, for more comprehensive coverage of psychology-related topics, search PsycINFO or PsycARTICLES. Both sources index popular magazine articles and scholarly journal articles. AARP Ageline - Leads to journal articles, books, book chapters, reports, and government documents for materials related to aging and middle age, from an interdisciplinary perspective of psychology, economics, sociology, gerontology, public policy, business, health and health care services, and consumer issues. Documents on health care and policy comprise about half the database. Coverage is from 1978 to the present. Family & Society Studies Worldwide - Covers research, policy, and practice literature in the fields of Family Science, Human Ecology, Human Development, and Social Welfare. Coverage spans from 1970 to the present indexing publications from a wide range of social science disciplines including anthropology, sociology, psychology, demography, health sciences, education, economics, law, history and social work. Source documents include professional journals, conference papers, books, government reports, discussion and working papers, theses & dissertations and other sources. GenderWatch - Full-text articles dealing with the impact of gender on a variety of subjects.

Organized both by type of addiction (e.g., drugs, alcohol, gambling) and by type of resource (e.g., statistical sources, populations, treatment). The site focuses on research, especially the kind that gives an overview of a key area. Classics in the History of Psychology by Christopher D. Green, York University; Toronto, Canada Archive of historically important psychology books and articles in the public domain, most published during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Includes works by James Mark Baldwin, William James, James Gibson Hume, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, B.F. Skinner and many others. Developmental Psychology Tree by McGraw-Hill Publishers Online resources for teaching and learning developmental psychology, including directories of related web resources, bibliographies of print resources (to McGraw-Hill books), digital image galleries (to McGraw-Hill material), and student assignment and test/study question ideas. Long, M.D. Web site offering basic information on mental disorders, gathered from sources used by professionals. Includes standard disease descriptions, diagnostic criteria, and treatment recommendations. Also includes links to predefined PubMed searches that deliver lists of recently published articles on each disorder. National Institute of Mental Health by United States Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health The NIMH's web site allows you to find out about the NIMH and it's divisions as well as information about mental health for consumers, practitioners, and researchers. Neurosciences on the Internet (Neuroguide.com) by Neil A. Busis, M.D. Organized guide to neuroscience resources on the Internet, including general and specific web sites, academic departments, research institutes and labs, scholarly societies, electronic journals, teaching resources and more. Open Directory Project by Netscape Administrators and Volunteer Net-Citizens Possibly the most extensive directory of psychology resources on the Internet, containing over 2,800 Web sites, organized by category with numerous cross-references. This directory includes many Web sites not found in other psychology Web gateways, and so is useful for unusual topics or exhaustive searches. However, keep in mind that more effort is needed to find and evaluate individual resources in this larger, less selective Web gateway. Krantz, Hanover College Selective gateway to Internet resources on psychology, designed specifically for college students and instructors. Heavy emphasis on study guides, tutorials, teaching aids, undergraduate and graduate programs, professional networking, job seeking and careers. Psych Web by Russell A. Dewey, Ph.D. Provides psychology-related information for students and teachers of psychology. Although not directly affiliated with an institution of higher education, this site was developed and is maintained by a professor at Georgia Southern University. It is a great resource for locating psychology information, including departments of psychology and a "crib sheet" for using the APA publication style. Social Psychology Network by Scott Plaus, Wesleyan University Key Resource Large social psychology database supported by National Science Foundation grant funding. The 'Psychology Subject Areas' and 'Social Psych Subject Areas' menu selections provide access to key topic areas in psychology such as: Clinical Psychology, Cognition and Perception, Developmental Psychology, Psychology of Gender, Interpersonal Relations, Social Influence, etc. Scholarly Societies Project: Psychology by Jim Parrott, University of Waterloo Library Directory of websites for scholarly societies and organizations dealing with all aspects of psychology. Tests & Measures
| Important Note: Psychological measures (test, scales, inventories, etc.) can be difficult to obtain without paying a fee. Most often, you need to purchase the test from a commercial publisher or the test's author. Occasionally, a test will be included with a journal article or printed in part or in full in books. If you wish to acquire a test for educational purposes, you may be able to obtain a copy free of charge; however, this still entails contacting the publisher or author and stating your purpose for the test.
