Find: Books

Enter IUCAT. From the home search page, start with simple keyword concepts connected with AND (e.g. programming AND Linux). Log in to IUCAT, to use the Request Delivery system to request that a book available at another IU library, but not available here, be sent here to pick up.

Find: eBooks

IUCAT simultaneously searches all of the campus ebook collections*. ebooks available to the campus indicate on IUCAT hits "copy available... in all locations" or "copies available at Indpls - IUPUI University Library (I-UVIVLIB)".

For a quick book and ebook search (VPN link needed if off the campus network), try the IUCAT search option from the top right of the library homepage: www.ulib.iupui.edu

For a dedicated ebook search - Enter IUCAT. From the home search page, under More IUCAT Searches, select "E-book Search (Beta)". Start with simple searches using keyword concepts connected with AND (e.g. programming AND Linux). Use the IUCAT "Go Back" tab when starting new searches to avoid being "bumped out" of the ebook search.

*Ebrary ebooks - Large collection of ebooks covering multiple academic and general interest subject areas.

*netLibrary ebooks - Large collection of ebooks covering multiple academic and general interest subject areas.

*Springer ebook collection - Site providing access to Springer ebooks from 2005 through 2007, including some from 2008 and 2009. Includes articles from specialized conferences. Items which can be accessed are marked with a green square. Items can also be identified and accessed via IUCAT.

*CRCnetBASE - Includes: Communication Networking and Infrastructure, Wireless and Mobile Communications, Sensors and Sensor Networks, Multimedia Networks and Systems; Signal and Image Processing.

Encyclopedia Britannica (Britannica online).

McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology (2007). McGraw Hill's "flagship" technology reference title. The Encyclopedia "covers the latest developments" in topics in theoretical and applied science and technology, including cellular and molecular biology.

Oxford Reference Online. Large collection of high quality, up-to-date dictionaries; search by individual title, subject collection or comprehensively for entries cross-referenced by discipline. Includes terms, symbols, processes, and entry-level web links for subjects such as Biological Sciences, incl. biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics; Computing, incl. databases, networks, and multimedia; Physical Sciences & Mathematics, incl. statistics terms and distributions.
