The IUPUI Libraries MetaSearch portal offers both novice and advanced users a friendly environment of electronic resources recommended by librarians. With MetaSearch you can:

  • simultaneously search multiple University Library electronic resources
  • receive your search results in a single display
  • obtain the full text of many online articles
  • link out to the original search interface of any resource for advanced features
  • customize your search environment, save search histories, and create organized folders of tagged citations using the e-Shelf
  • place an interlibrary loan request
A note for advanced searchers, particularly faculty and graduate students:
While MetaSearch offers simultaneous searching across multiple databases, not all of the library's databases are searchable within this tool. Using a database's original or "native" search interface often provides more precise and comprehensive searches. For example, MetaSearch will not permit you to limit your searches to peer-reviewed articles or manipulate very large datasets. You can reach a database's native interface within MetaSearch by clicking on the hyperlinked name of the database or resource.
