Herron Art Library

The Herron Art Library is a full service branch library of IUPUI University Library. Now located on the IUPUI campus within the new Herron School of Art and Design, the Herron Art Library offers the IUPUI community and residents of Indiana research materials on art and artists pre-history through the present day. The collection consists of approximately 26,000 volumes onsite with another 8,000+ located across the street at IUPUI University Library. The Herron Library maintains special collections including 160,000 slides, dvd’s, videos, and a growing and significant book arts collection quickly gaining national attention. The library enjoys a strong web presence and provides its campus affiliated patrons access to art related content in electronic and digital formats created in-house and licensed. The Herron Library is actively engaged in teaching and learning through the library's resources, information literacy initiatives, and utilization of social networking tools. The library’s art resource guide may be visited at http://iupui.campusguides.com/art . In addition to our library web site, the library manages a blog and can be found on Facebook, and Flickr.
The Herron Art Library formally began its service to the central Indiana community as an art research library in 1909. Today, the library continues to enjoy its long-standing reputation as central Indiana's primary lending art library for modern and contemporary art. The library's tradition of responding to the present-day needs of its users is reflected in the resources, services, and special internal and external projects in which the library engages.
